First on FOX – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (New York) is introducing a bill that would direct funds from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to hire more Border Patrol agents at the U.S.-Mexico border. It has been submitted.

Entitled the “Directing IRS Resources to Today’s Emergency Crisis Act,” or the “DIRECT Act,” the bill would “cancel certain balances provided to the Internal Revenue Service and redirect them to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.” The purpose is to

Specifically, the proposal calls for “unobligated balances” to be appropriated or otherwise made available to the IRS for “enforcement activities” under federal law, and instead “The funds will be sent to CBP for the salaries and expenses of new officers and personnel hired to provide security in the southern region.” According to the bill’s language, “the borders of the United States.” Tenney plans to reintroduce the 2023 bill in the newly sworn-in 119th Congress.

“The Biden-Harris administration has overseen the entry of more than 10 million illegal immigrants into our country,” Tenney said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “But instead of prioritizing border security and supporting CBP officers, they focused on sending the IRS to harass middle-class families. Border Patrol agents who protect the southern border by preventing them from initiating home audits and reinvesting those funds into hiring additional Customs agents.” ”

“As we transition to a new administration, we will provide CBP officers with the additional resources they need to secure our borders and deport illegal immigrants, effectively supporting the policies of President Trump and Border Czar Homan.” It is extremely important that we do this,” he added.

Congress passed Biden’s anti-inflation law in 2022 without Republican support. The package allocated about $80 billion to the IRS and gave the green light to hire 87,000 new IRS employees, including enforcement officers, by 2035.

The provision became a flashpoint for Republicans, including Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who accused the Biden IRS of trying to “harass hard-working Americans.”

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has selected billionaire Elon Musk and fellow entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The nongovernmental task force will be charged with finding ways to reduce federal workforces and eliminate programs and federal regulations as part of President Trump’s “Save America” policy during his second term.

President Trump on Wednesday announced the creation of the Office of Foreign Revenue, a new agency to collect tariffs and other funds owed to the United States by foreign companies.

The next border czar, Tom Homan, like Tenney, is a native New Yorker and is tasked with carrying out President Trump’s promise to mass deport criminal illegal immigrants and drug traffickers.
