House GOP MP Town Hall fell into chaos minutes after it began this week, and now he is responding to Heckler, who criticised concerns about national debt.
“I heard last night many people in Nebraska expressed concerns about Elon Musk, and I said I was basically supporting him. [the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE]I support what Elon Musk is doing,” R-Neb. Rep. Mike Flood told Fox News Digital in an interview Wednesday.
“What I asked to do is not to think about red or blue issues, but about our debts. It’s an American issue. We all need to solve that. And what I said last night is that we need to balance the budget.
Flood focuses on national debt of over $36 trillion, showing the enormous graphics that hang on top of him in Columbus, a high school auditorium at most of city hall.

However, mentions on government spending cuts drove jeers out of the crowd, particularly in the context of mask doge’s efforts.
Several people raised specific concerns about healthcare programs and veteran funding.
“What I told my constituents last night was, ‘Hey, if you have any concerns about a federal agency, a federal program, or a particular spending item, tell it with me,” Flood said.
“I heard a lot last night [Department of Veterans Affairs]. We made an appointment to these veterans. …If there are hiccups in the system, I always do what I did. That’s the interface with VA. I advocate on behalf of veterans and make sure they receive the care they are entitled to. ”
At one point, the woman who said she lost her sister to breast cancer said she noticed her wife was dealing with the illness and blamed the flood for a disability to support a serious cancer research program.

Flood said he supported funding for medical research but also supported the government’s efforts to find more efficiency, citing citizen debt once again.
He tried to keep on answering multiple times while people were booing, urging them to incredibly ask, “How can you oppose a balanced budget?”
The Democrat group was promoting its presence ahead of the packed event. Moveon promoted the “Musk or Us” protest at the same time as the Flood event. Nebraska Democrat staff were also onsite, the best officials wrote about X.
According to the flood, Democrat officials said they were handing out leaflets to attendees outside the event.
“I’m dealing with a lot from Democrats, like all the other members of Congress now, and last night was an extension of the same thing at the end of the day,” he said. “I represent them so I’m happy to be able to visit with them. I’m happy to explain where I’m in the matter, but that obviously adjusted quite a bit among the specific people last night. In the end, we had an exchange of ideas. That’s what matters.”
The Nebraska Republican was the only House GOP councillor to hold the official City Hall this week during the Congress break.

House Republican leaders warned the meeting to refrain from in-person events as anti-do demonstrations escalated.

However, the floods said they will continue and hold the next town hall in Lincoln, Nebraska in August.
“We have to explain to people who represent that $36 trillion in national debt is a national security issue every day, that is a time bomb, and I think we will face problems by raising it at city hall.
“I think the biggest part of that last night was having the opportunity to explain and connect dots for people about why we’re so supportive of some of the spending cuts we’re currently engaged in.”
