House Republican negotiators reached a tentative deal late Friday to avoid a partial government shutdown, people told Fox News Digital.
Two people familiar with the discussions told Fox News Digital that the deal includes a short-term extension of this year’s federal funding levels, disaster relief funds and agricultural aid for farmers, but is divided into three separate parts. It is said that it is based on the bill.
That includes an agreement to tackle the debt limit next year as part of a major conservative policy overhaul planned by Republicans through a process called “reconciliation.”
The new strategy was announced after President-elect Trump and his allies shot down lawmakers’ initial plan to avoid a partial shutdown before the holidays.

President Trump had called on Republicans to impose a debt limit as part of talks to avoid a government shutdown, but dozens of conservative Republicans, concerned about the national debt of more than $36 trillion, strongly opposed this request.
House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-Louisiana) plan to follow President Trump’s lead came under fire Thursday night when 38 Republicans joined all but two Democrats in voting to kill the bill.
And Trump, along with Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, led Congressional leaders’ opposition to the original bipartisan deal, even threatening to force lawmakers who supported it out of office.
