As the government’s efficiency department enters a new era with Elon Musk’s departure on Friday, it has caused many changes in the issues of immigration and border security in recent months.
“Doge has helped transform the federal government by eliminating waste and bloat that has been ignored for years. Doge plays a key role in eliminating millions of taxpayers’ money, including contracts for illegal alien facilities that were sitting empty during the Biden border invasion and funding illegal gang members to fund hotel rooms. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital in a statement Friday.
In February, the Department of Homeland Security announced that, like the Roosevelt Hotel, it had destroyed “empty illegal alien facilities” and “empty illegal alien facilities” and $80 million in FEMA funds to provide accommodation to illegal immigrants in New York City during an invasion of the tropical border.

In March, a contract was cleared by Doge to resume construction of walls along the seven-mile border.
“Secretary of Gnomes has announced that we have officially awarded our first award. [DOGE] “President Trump’s approval agreement to resume construction on the border wall” was posted on March 17th.
Doge also posted on X in April and found out that many illegal immigrants and people with criminal records on the FBI terrorist watch list are bringing public benefits. Four of the Terrorist Watchlist and 901 “Paroleed Aliens” “collect Medicaid,” 41 received unemployment benefits, 22 received student loans from the federal government, and 409 received a “net” tax refund in 2024. The tax refund costed $751,000, Medicaid costs $276,000, and student loans totaled $280,000.

South Dakota Governor Christinoem was sworn in at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, who was appointed Secretary of Homeland Security in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, on January 17, 2025.
“Under the Biden administration, it was routine for the Border Patrol to recognize aliens in the United States without legal status and minimal screening,” the post said. “Previously, CBP has identified a subset of 6.3K individuals paroleed to the US on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center Watchlist or criminal history since 2023. These paroles allow dedicated aliens to obtain job approval and receive a Social Security number, despite having no other legal status.”
Outside of immigration and border security, the Coast Guard is expected to save $32.7 million by disposing of information technology systems that are deemed “ineffective.” A video posted in May about the Doge-DHS partnership states that the funds will be “frontline operations.”
“Another victory over government efficiency in DHS!” DHS secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement to Fox News Digital in April.

“Continuing Doge’s critical work, the Coast Guard has eliminated invalid IT programs, saved over $32 million and focused on the resources most needed to protect our homeland. The USCG will continue to realize the president’s priorities and maximize efficiency while ensuring boundaries and Mariim’s approach,” added Noem.
The DHS and the Housing and Urban Development Authority (HUD) recently announced a planned crackdown on the use of public housing benefits for illegal immigrants.
And last month, DHS announced it was ending the resilient infrastructure and community programs in FEMA buildings with a spirit of cracking down on “waste, fraud and abuse.”

“The BRIC program was another example of a lean and ineffective FEMA program. We were more interested in political agenda than helping Americans affected by natural disasters,” a FEMA spokesman said in a statement at the time. “Under the guidance of Secretary Noem, we are committed to ensuring that Americans who are in crisis have the support and resources they need.”
Fox News reached out to DHS for additional comment. President Donald Trump made major policy changes early in his second term, causing a sharp decline in border encounters and a continuous decline in crackdown on illegal immigrants with criminal history within the United States.
In total, Doge estimates so far it has saved $175 billion for taxpayers.
