Many young people took part in vandalism in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night, leaving behind the damage and questions that followed.
The brawl was filmed on video and police are currently trying to identify the suspect. The incident marked another troubling incident as Downtown is about to recover from the pandemic.
“I hope they face some kind of fine or at least jail time. I don’t know,” said Teddy Lee, owner of DTLA Window Tint.

What inspired you to bring the crowds to downtown LA?
Police say hundreds of people appear at an illegal rooftop concert spanning two car parks in downtown Los Angeles, and the group later spills into nearby neighborhoods.
Police say there were reports of massive obstruction and owners of the vacant warehouse confirmed that the group had trespassed Saturday night. A punk band played on one of the warehouse-style buildings that were used without the owner’s knowledge.
“The event was widely promoted on social media,” said the Los Angeles Police Department CMDR. Lillian Carranza.

What exactly happened?
Police say hundreds of people appeared in illegal parties in downtown Los Angeles, and later groups flooded around the surrounding neighborhoods.
The crowd was first noticed at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Maple Avenue.
Some people dressed up at the party wearing pink platform heels and cat ears, according to a video filmed on News Outlet onscene.tv. The man, girled from a jug filled with flammable liquid, spewed into the torch and threw flames into the night sky.
The attention of the crowd was directed at a line train that stopped along the Washington Boulevard route. According to the video, the destroyers in the crowd painted the train with spray paint and began slamming the windows.
LAPD spokesman Officer Kevin Terzes said the Los Angeles Police Department was warned at 12:12am Sunday by a caller who said five people were on trains and destroying the interior.
In the video, dozens of LAPD officers gathered from the mob to skirmish lines across the street, clutching bubble-burning black and green riot guns.
Several people in the crowd posed for a selfie next to a spray-painted LAPD cruiser. According to the video, they were hostile to the officers, threw fireworks and kicked the police car as officers drove away.
Train service was delayed about 20 minutes after about 50 people blocked south- and north-bound trains on Washington Boulevard and Maple Avenue, Metro spokesman Jose Uvaldo said.
Four officers have been injured, including someone who was smacked in the face with a bottle.
Why wasn’t there an arrest that night?
“Our officers were significantly higher, so the decision revealed the area rather than arresting them,” Karanza said.
About 100 people at the party broke down and committed vandalism, Karanza said. A group of about 50 people blocked two line trains and destroyed them.
Officers ultimately declared illegal parliament, set up a line of skirmishes and ousted young people out of the area.
What is going on now?
Mayor Karen Bass called for the person in charge to be found and accountable.
Several Plaincross officials were in the area Tuesday where local businesses canvased for witnesses and security camera videos. Others have concluded social media feeds for evidence.
Metro spokesperson said subway trains were not being served to remove the graffiti.
Karanza said the operators of the underground party are being tracked along with those who helped to publish events at the heart of the issue.
“We can guarantee that we are responsible,” Karanza said.
