The four-person premier design showroom in Los Angeles is joining forces for a special event aimed at supporting recovery efforts following the devastating fire that cleaned up Southern California.

For the Love of Home: New Beginning Designs will be held on March 19th from 9am to 5pm at the Pacific Design Center. The event will provide all industry discussions, keynotes and showcases.

All ticket revenue benefits three major organizations that provided important assistance during the fire. The Pasadena Humane Society, LA Can Do, and LA Fire Station Foundation.

“We are pleased to announce that Gina DeWitt, CEO and President of Kneedler Fauchère Group, KF Showroom’s CEO and President, said:

The Pasadena Humane Society played a key role in protecting, rescuing and providing life-saving veterinary care to animals affected by the fire. LA Can Do is a dedicated nonprofit organization that supports designers, builders and volunteers in disaster recovery efforts, and has intervened to help families rebuild. Meanwhile, the LA Fire Station Foundation ensured that local fire stations have the resources, equipment and funds they need to fight the flames and protect their communities.

Throughout the day, over 30 showrooms showcase exciting programs designed to promote conversation, education and innovation. The event will feature discussions between the Business of Home podcast and keynote speeches moderated by Dennis Scully, host of The 2018 Show. Among the well-known speakers is Michael Kobach, a well-known architect specializing in humanitarian and sustainable design. Gabe Osburn, director of planning and economic development for Santa Rosa, who led the fire relief efforts during the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Bernard Trainer, an interdisciplinary artist and creative force behind ground studios, practices in landscape architecture.

“We wanted to ensure that the design industry has a platform to support people affected by fires, but equally importantly we wanted to create educational opportunities for the A&D community.

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the latest spring collections of furniture, textiles, lighting and art, offering a fresh perspective on design in the wake of destruction.

“This fire wasn’t something we saw on television on the other side of the world. It happened to our home, our friends, our family and our colleagues,” said Thomas Rabin, founder and CEO of Thomas Rabin. “As a third generation of Parisadians, it was devastating to see my childhood landmarks turn to ashes, and it completely inspires the way that communities near and far came together to provide assistance in so many ways. Amid this deep sadness, there is hope and inspiration in our future.”

Tickets for the event are available for $75 per person, and all proceeds go directly to the relief organization. Those who are unable to attend can also contribute through donations on the event website.
