Starbucks’ popular holiday tradition, “Red Cup Day,” takes place this week, giving customers free reusable cups, but there’s a catch.
The coffee giant’s popular 2024 “Red Cup Day” will take place on Thursday, the company said. On Red Cup Day, the chain will give customers a free reusable holiday cup when they order a qualifying drink.
“Customers who order a handcrafted holiday drink of any size will receive a free limited-edition red reusable holiday cup at participating locations across the U.S., while supplies last,” Starbucks said in a statement.
The coffee giant unveiled its popular holiday menu last week, including the return of fan favorites and new drinks, and began selling its famous red holiday cups for the 2024 season.

The new holiday cups are part of Starbucks’ recent initiative to soon eliminate surcharges for non-dairy milk and to create a “lesser, better” menu offering in hopes of bringing consistency to each drink and saving time.
