Starbucks’ popular holiday tradition, “Red Cup Day,” takes place this week, giving customers free reusable cups, but there’s a catch.

The coffee giant’s popular 2024 “Red Cup Day” will take place on Thursday, the company said. On Red Cup Day, the chain will give customers a free reusable holiday cup when they order a qualifying drink.

“Customers who order a handcrafted holiday drink of any size will receive a free limited-edition red reusable holiday cup at participating locations across the U.S., while supplies last,” Starbucks said in a statement.

The coffee giant unveiled its popular holiday menu last week, including the return of fan favorites and new drinks, and began selling its famous red holiday cups for the 2024 season.

As you prepare to order your morning coffee, here’s what you need to know about Starbucks’ Red Cup Day and how to get it.

When is Red Cup Day?

Starbucks Red Cup Day will be held on Thursday, November 14, the chain announced.

How can I get a free red cup?

The company said orders placed in-store, through the drive-thru, on the Starbucks app, and through the coffee chain’s delivery options: DoorDash, Uber, and Grubhub will be eligible.

Which drinks are eligible?

Eligible drinks:

Apple Crisp Non-Dairy Cream Chai Tea Latte Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato Apple Crisp Oat Milk Shake Espresso Caramel Brulee Latte Maron Praline Latte Crunchy Orange Refresher Crunchy Lemonade Refresher Crunchy Drink Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai Hot Chocolate Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte Peppermint Hot Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Peppermint White Hot Chocolate Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Pumpkin Spice Latte Salted Pecan Crunch Cold Brew Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte White Hot Chocolate

Starbucks said Christmas Blend and Christmas Blend Blonde brewed coffees and Starbucks Reserve beverages are not included in the offer.

What you need to know about cups

The company says this year’s cup is made with 95% recycled content, and recipients can take it back to Starbucks to be reused and receive a $0.10 discount on their order. It is said that it is possible.

Starbucks says its 2024 holiday menu will include eight drinks, as well as several cold forms and six food items. At least four of the food items are new, Starbucks said.

The holiday menu also includes seasonal whole bean coffee, as well as festive drinkware and gifts.

Other changes

The new holiday cups are part of Starbucks’ recent initiative to soon eliminate surcharges for non-dairy milk and to create a “lesser, better” menu offering in hopes of bringing consistency to each drink and saving time. It appears in response to the announcement that it will be implemented. Baristas have fewer recipes to remember, so each drink takes longer to make.

The coffee chain also announced the end of sales of its controversial olive oil-infused drinks.

“I’m passionate about what has always set Starbucks apart: cozy coffee places where people come together and serve the finest coffee handcrafted by our expert baristas,” Starbucks CEO Brian Nicol said in a statement. I promised to focus on House and return to Starbucks.” .

Last month, Starbucks announced a new “Wicked”-themed drink. The limited-time drink is inspired by the movie’s main characters, Glinda (The Good Witch of the South) and Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West).
