Two notable NFL games are coming to Netflix this holiday season.
The streaming giant will broadcast live NFL games for the first time on Christmas Day, giving it the opportunity to showcase two showdowns with big playoff implications.
First, the Kansas City Chiefs, two-time Super Bowl champions, will travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Houston Texans will then host the Baltimore Ravens, and Beyoncé will be the star of the show at halftime.
Netflix has already dipped its toe into the NFL in recent years. Following the “Quarterback” series in 2023, a sequel to “Receiver” was released this summer. Netflix welcomed Tom Brady to “The Greatest Roast of All Time” in the spring.
The company has taken a big leap forward with its latest live sporting event. A boxing exhibition between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson aired, but viewers shared complaints about streaming issues during the event, with thousands citing outages. Still, Netflix said it had 108 million viewers worldwide, making it the most-streamed sporting event ever.
