The man was hospitalized in serious condition after experiencing medical distress while stranding about 20 feet above a tree in a Hollywood hill on a Sunday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the incident at 2:13pm and sent crews to save a man from a nearby Mount Olympus.
Upon arrival, the first responder found a man estimated to be 30 years old, 2325 N. Mt. Olympus Dr.
Authorities did not further explain the man’s “medical distress,” but revealed that he was at risk for him to be stuck about 20 feet above the ground. It is not revealed why the man was in the tree or how he got there.

Footage from Citizen.com showed the crew using an aerial ladder and lowering the firefighter who had the rope into a wooden canopy.
“The incident was upgraded and firefighters who received city search and rescue training from LAFD conducted rescue operations and allowed patients to safely pull out the trees,” the department said in a warning.

Although details are limited, LAFD said the patient was eventually taken to hospital in a serious condition. His identity was not immediately available.
