Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in downtown Long Beach for a “not my president” rally on President’s Day to protest the role of the Trump administration and Elon Musk.
Outside city hall, protesters wielded American and Mexican flags and homemade signs, raising messages such as “Bullet-Each Trump,” “Female +Elon = Treason,” and “Seeing a smarter cabinet at IKEA.” It’s there.
Protesters said they were disappointed that since President Trump took office last month he signed an executive order he signed, particularly those aimed at overhauling the country’s climate policy, the immigration system and reproductive rights.

“I believe in democracy, not fascism, not rulers or kings,” said Long Beach Business Operations Manager. “Our country is at risk. I’m looking for ways to get involved in any way.”
Dennis Tortanic and Esther Duran arrived in lawn chairs, both 73 people and friends from high school, after receiving text alerts about the event.
“It’s been a long time since we protested, like in the Vietnam War,” Tortanic said. “I’m so oppressed by this whole thing. I feel like we’re backing down.”

For the first two hours, activists gave a short speech as the passing driver rang the horn. Anthony Bryson of Socal Uprising, who helped organize the rally, said, “Hey, Ho Ho, Donald Trump has to go. Hey, Ho, Elon Musk has to go.”
Protesters began marching along Ocean Boulevard in the middle of the afternoon, encountering vocal Trump supporters on a nearly two-mile route, causing some heated debate to erupt. Two women on the balcony covered the American flag and red flag with the words “Trump 2024. Reclaim America.”
Like many who attended the rally, Duran expressed his light corn about the famous role of masks as “special government officials” in government efficiency.
“Who has the position of Elon Musk?” said Duran, who had the sign saying, “Eron must go.”
The Long Beach demonstration rally was one of many similar protests across the country on Monday. In California, demonstrators also gathered in downtown Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Camarillo.
Many of the events were compiled by the 50501 Movement, a group of grassroots organizers aiming to “maintain the constitution and end enforcement.”
