Hunter Biden aims to throw a lawsuit after a rental home is damaged in a Palisade fire

Citing financial issues, Hunter Biden asked a federal judge this week to drop a laptop hacking lawsuit filed in 2023 against a former Trump administration aide.

The lawsuit accused Garrett Ziegler, former assistant to White House trade advisor Peter Navarro, of “access, tampering, tampering, copying and damaging” the state’s computer fraud laws that he had not owned, operating, manipulating, altering, copying and damaging any computer data he had not owned.

“I believe in the merits of this case, but I am noted that defendant Garrett Ziegler has allowed me to hack my iCloud in several official statements, but I am requesting that this action be dismissed because I have no financial resources to continue litigating this case.”

His income has dropped significantly since the lawsuit was filed, he wrote. His rental home was also damaged in a Palisade fire in January, which further exacerbated his money challenges, he wrote.

The lawyer representing Ziegler did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment Thursday. Biden’s lawyers also didn’t immediately return a call from the Times.

According to his declaration, Biden’s income came mainly from the sale of his artwork and his memoir “The Beautiful Things.” A few years ago in December 2023, Biden said he sold 27 pieces of art for an “average price of $54,481.48”, but since then he has only sold one for $36,000. His book sales have also been declining, the document says.

“Given the positive feedback and reviews of my artwork and memoirs, I was hoping to get paid speaking engagement and paid appearances, but that didn’t happen,” Biden wrote. He added that he is working on “significant debt reported to be millions of dollars in the press.”

The legal saga was centered around Biden’s infamous laptop. The laptop was discovered by Republican operatives a few weeks before the 2020 election, prompting a string of suspicions against the Biden family.

Marco Polo, founded by nonprofit Ziegler, is reportedly reportedly reporting Biden’s emails, intimate photos, text messages and other documents by Biden’s iPhone backup and cloud storage.

“In the Western world, I’m sure no one has delved into America’s first family than us,” Ziegler said in a 2023 YouTube interview.

Biden has also faced personal legal issues over the past year. He was convicted in June of three federal crimes related to the purchase of a firearm, and in September he pleaded guilty to nine federal tax charges.

However, he was forgiven by his father shortly before the former president resigned. Former President Joe Biden at the time claimed that Hunter was the victim of an unfair political attack.
