Former President Joe Biden’s campaign responded to whether the president would be taking performance-enhancing drugs ahead of his debate with President Donald Trump, claiming instead that Trump and his campaign were “desperate and obviously lies.”
About a year after Biden’s unfortunate debate, former eldest son Hunter Biden, in a vast wild interview released Monday, revealed that his father’s poor debate performance was due to stealing Ambien, a sedative hypnosis sedative used to treat insomnia.
“We know exactly what happened in that discussion,” Hunter Biden said in an interview. “He basically flew the world through the mileage where he was able to fly three times across the world. He’s 81 years old. He’s tired.
“He gets up on stage and he looks like a deer in his headlights,” Hunter added. “And that feeds every f—ing story that everyone wants to tell.”
Biden’s aides will expose Trump’s “weakness” in search of early discussion to showcase Biden’s “strength,” the book says.

On June 26, 2024, the day before the discussion, Fox News Digital contacted the Biden campaign and asked if Biden had plans to use performance-enhancing drugs for discussion, but staff avoided direct answers to the questions twice.
At the time, Trump led an upward chorus, including lawmakers. This required Biden to undergo a drug test before the showdown. Advocates for the screening suggested that Biden may have been motivated by his desire to raise concerns about his mental vision.
“Donald Trump is so scared to be responsible for his toxic agenda of attacking reproductive freedom and reducing social security, so he and his allies are desperately and clearly falsely lying,” a Biden campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital in the evening ahead of the 2024 debate.
When asked in a follow-up email about a “yes” or “no” response, the spokesman said the original statement answered the question.
“Trump’s accusations about drugs are hopeless and obviously false lies,” the response said.
Ambien is a sedative that slows brain activity and helps people fall asleep, and does not function as a performance-enhancing supplement for public discussion.

Joe Biden spent days preparing for a discussion at Camp David in Maryland, haunting the campaign leading up to discussion with videos of his public disappointment and misstep. Meanwhile, Trump led the responsibility to require Biden to undergo drug testing to prove that he has not adopted supplements that will improve performance ahead of the highly anticipated event.
“A bent Joe Biden drug test??? I’ll agree soon!!!” Trump posted to the Truth Society, leading to a debate.
Fox News Digital also contacted the White House and Trump campaigns asking if Biden or Trump, respectively, plans to take performance-enhancing drugs ahead of the discussion. The Biden White House did not respond at the time, but the Trump campaign did.
“It’s definitely not,” Caroline Leavitt, a campaign spokesman at the time, told Fox News Digital at the time.
“President Trump naturally has elite stamina and unlike Joe Biden, he doesn’t need drugs to improve his performance. Joe Biden says he’ll be taken for discussion so he’s in a union state,” Lewitt said. “President Trump has repeatedly asked Joe Biden to take part in drug testing. What should Team Biden have to hide?”

Biden entered a reelection cycle already won by claims and concerns that his mental vision had slipped, and he was not mentally suited to continue serving as president.
Biden also brushed off allegations of using performance-enhancing supplements, including laughing at Trump’s challenge of getting a drug test at the X-Post just before the argument that he was drinking a can of water.
“I don’t know what these performance enhancers have, but I feel like I’m pretty jacked. Try it yourself, and see you for a moment.
The debate was a terrible failure as Biden stumbled over his response, sometimes lost his line of thought, sometimes seemed to slurp the words, and opened a flood of criticism from longtime Democratic allies who called for Biden to drop out of race and hand over the torch to the younger generation.
A handful of former President Barack Obama’s allies and former advisors led the charges in calling on Biden to drop out of the 2024 race early in the summer, including David Axelrod, who Biden said he “hasn’t won this race.” George Clooney called on the president to quit with bomb manipulation. John Favreau was former director of Obama’s speechwriting.

“They are all going to insert judgments against men who understand how to be elected to the US Senate seven or more times, unlike anyone else… and get a way to get more votes than any president who has won so far, and they’re going to replace their judgment for him?” he added that he raided other Biden allies who are encouraging Joe Biden to drop out of the race.

When asked whether Biden would use performance-enhancing drugs ahead of the 2024 debate, Fox News Digital contacted the former president’s office regarding Hunter Biden’s remarks and a previous statement in the campaign, but did not receive a reply immediately.
