U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently announced that it had arrested more than 66,000 illegal immigrants and removed more than 65,000 during the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term.
According to a news release from ICE, ICE arrested 66,463 illegal immigrants and removed 65,682 people, including those accused of threatening public safety and national security.
Three of four illegal immigrants have arrested people accused of committing a crime, according to the agency.
“The brave men and women on the ice protect our family, friends and neighbors by removing the threats of public safety and national security from our communities,” Ice acting director Todd M. Lyon wrote in a statement.

The total number of illegal immigrant arrests on the ice includes 2,288 gang members from Tren de Aragua, MS-13, 18th Avenue and other gangs.
Tren de Aragua and MS-13 are currently listed as foreign terrorist organizations.

Additionally, 1,329 people have been charged or convicted of sexual offences, and 498 have been charged or convicted of murder, according to ICE.
The criminal history of those arrested includes convictions or charges for 9,639 assaults, 6,398 DWIs or DUIs, and 1,479 weapons offences, according to the release.

Through the 287(g) program, arrests and withdrawals surged with support from state and local law enforcement. This allows local governments to enforce federal immigration laws.
The ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Bureau has concluded contracts with nearly 600 pending police departments and security departments and offices across the country, demonstrating the effectiveness of a government-wide approach to immigration enforcement.
Since January 20th, there have been 444 new 287 (g) contracts nationwide.
Still, with around 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, the current 65,682 deportations account for just 0.59%.

Ice says they deported 174 criminal immigrants from Texas, including men with 39 illegal entries.
Authorities said Ice Homeland Secuart Investigations (HSI), which also focuses on cross-border crime and threats, is focusing on workplace operations to protect American businesses.
Since January 20, HSI has arrested more than 1,000 workers who are illegal immigrants and proposed fines of more than $1 million for businesses that employ illegal employees.

“The agency has set standards for arrest and removal while supporting national security missions,” ICE Deputy Director Madison D. Xiahan wrote in a statement. “Last week, HSI disbanded the human smuggling ring responsible for bringing 500-700 illegal aliens to the United States each year. Aliens that the US government never examined. Our community is becoming safer every day. [Kristi] Noem’s leadership. ”

The encounters between illegal immigrants have fallen by 95%, according to Customs Border Protection (CBP) and the White House, but illegal crossings plummeted to the level they last saw in the 1960s.
The number of illegal immigrants who “flew” from immigration enforcement officials fell 99%, with 655% of terrorists arrested, according to the CBP and the White House.
