The identity of the second Maryland man who was unfairly deported to El Salvador in March was revealed this week, but the Trump administration continues to resist a federal judge’s order to return him to the United States
The individual, previously known as a “Christian,” was identified on Monday as Daniel Rozano Camargo. Daniel Rozano Camargo was a 20-year-old Venezuelan man who was arrested for possession of cocaine before January and subsequently deported to El Salvador in March. News of his identity was first reported by Politico.
US District Judge Stephanie Gallagher last month determined that the Trump administration had violated a settlement agreement last year that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) attacked a group of young asylum seekers, including Lozano Camargo, by deporting him before his asylum demands were fully heard.
The 20-year-old was part of an immigrant group that illegally entered the United States as an unaccompanied child, and later filed an asylum claim to remain in the United States.

To date, US officials have resisted court orders to “promote” the return of Abrego Garcia. It claims that court filings to Gallagher doubled on Monday.
The Trump administration previously told the court that Lozano Camargo was arrested and convicted earlier this year for possession of cocaine, and he was entitled to removal under the alien enemy laws. This appears to be his second low-level drug crime.
