President Donald Trump warned that New York City candidate Zohran Mamdani will never be the same if New York City candidate is elected.
Mamdani is a Ugandan-born Muslim who won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor in June, identifying him as a democratic socialist.
But Trump said New Yorkers should not vote from Queens for New York State Senators.

“No. 1, you shouldn’t vote for him because there are communists running,” Trump said at cabinet meeting Tuesday. “He’s a disaster. He’s leading. He has a Democratic nomination.
“I’m not involved, but I can tell you this. Previously, we’ve never been a socialist country before. I’m right. Well, I won’t say it again.
Mamdani did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
Trump previously threatened to arrest him if he blows up a mamdani and refuses to comply with federal immigration officials. Trump’s remarks came after Mamdani said in June that he would stop US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) officials who “covered” the “deportation of their neighbors.”

“Well, we have to arrest him,” Trump told White House reporters on July 1.
In response, Mamdani issued a statement claiming that Trump’s comments amounted to an attack on democracy.
“The US President threatened me to be arrested, stripped of my citizenship, put in a detention camp and deported,” Mamdani said. “Not because we broke the law, but because the ice refuses to terrorize our city.”
“His statement represents not only an attack on our democracy, but an attempt to send a message to all New Yorkers who refuse to hide in the shadows.
Trump also denounced Mamdani after the 33-year-old refused to condemn the term “intifada globalization.”

“Frankly, I heard he’s completely nuts work,” Trump told reporters on July 1. “I think it’s crazy because people in New York go this route. They’re the first time I think there are communists. They’re really pure and true communists. He wants to run a grocery store.
Mamdani said in a June interview with NBC News that he didn’t want to condemn the term “globalization of intifadas.” This is a phrase used to support Palestinian resistance to Israel.
Mamdami has been criticized by Democrats for refusing to announce his stance on phrases, including New York’s minority leader Hakem Jeffries. Jeffries told ABC News Sunday in June that the term is not “acceptable phrasing.”
