The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department cannot rule out foul plays on Saturday in the disappearance of a Yucaipa toddler last seen in the parking lot of a sports store.
Seven-month-old Emmanuel Halo said she disappeared Thursday after her mother, Rebecca Halo, said she was attacked by an unknown man while changing her son’s diaper.
Halo said she became unconscious. When she woke up, her son was gone, she told investigators. Deputies were unable to find the baby in searches in the area.
The department said when investigators faced Halo over the inconsistency in the initial statement, she “refused to continue the interview.”
“At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to eliminate foul plays with Emmanuel’s disappearance,” the department also interviewed the boy’s father, Jake Halo.
In an interview with KTLA on Friday, Rebecca Halo, with dark eyes, sued her son for the return. She said she was planning to go to the Big 5 Sporting Goods Store on Thursday night and buy a mouthguard for her older son.
“If you know anything, just go forward or take him to the police,” she said. “Come and bring your son back. I’m pleading with you.”
The child finally saw him wearing a black Nike Onesea. He has brown hair, brown eyes and eyes crossed, KTLA reported.
“Whoever takes my son with you, please give him back,” Jake Halo told KTLA. “We just want to get him back. We will not do anything to you. Give us your son. Keep him safe and don’t hurt him.
