The Department of Homeland Security warns them to evacuate to avoid obstructing federal immigration enforcement projects after saying they tried to block the arrest of federal immigrants in New York City on Wednesday.

Later that day, almost 20 anti-ice protesters were also taken into custody in another part of the city.

Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that ICE agents contacted the Federal Protection Services (FPS) on Wednesday morning and in the lobby of a federal immigration court building “requested for assistance when officers were making their arrests.”

McLaughlin said he saw FPS officials responding and several protesters taking photos and taking photos of law enforcement officials in the lobby. She said that around 11:45am, a person tried to force a blockage of ice agents trying to detain someone.

McLaughlin said ICE reported the incident to FPS as an “attack on one of their officers.” According to McLaughlin, the person was temporarily detained, issued a US District Court violation notice and was released.

In response to the incident, McLaughlin said “anyone who actively interferes with law enforcement in carrying out his obligation to oath will, of course, face potential consequences, including arrests.”

Later that day, around 20 anti-ice protesters were taken outside a federal building in Manhattan by the New York Police Department outside a federal building in Manhattan on Wednesday night, after chaotic protests led to hardships with protesters.

A NYPD spokesman told Fox News Digital that he responded to a “disordered group” 911 call in front of a DHS building around 6:35pm

The NYPD allegedly hunted for a man accused of defeating an unofficial police officer and stealing a gun, and accomplices were arrested.

“On arrival, officers observed about 20-30 demonstrators sitting on the road and blocking traffic from vehicles,” a spokesperson said, “The protesters were instructed multiple times to open the road and did not comply.”

As a result, a NYPD spokesman said 23 people were detained, 18 people were issued criminal court subpoena and five people were arrested and charged.

Acting ice director Todd Lyons said in a statement this month that attacks on ice officers have increased by more than 400% from last year. He was responsible for politicians who were “inattention to politically motivated rhetoric.”
