NBC News on Wednesday projected Republican incumbent Rep. Ken Calvert to retain his seat in California’s 41st Congressional District.
The race was a rematch against longtime Congressman Will Rollins, a Democrat. In the 2022 election, the difference between the two was less than 5 points.
Calvert received 51.3% of the vote, according to Wednesday’s update. Mr. Rollins had 48.7%.
Mr. Calvert has been an advocate for California farmers, tax cuts, and funding for education.
Rollins, a former federal prosecutor, called for keeping Americans safe while expanding affordable housing policies, protecting reproductive rights and increasing funding for transportation infrastructure.
The 41st Congressional District is the gateway to the California Valley and includes portions of Riverside, Palm Springs, Indian Wells, Lake Elsinore, and La Quinta.
Calvert is the longest-serving Republican in California’s congressional delegation, having held the seat east of Los Angeles since 1993.
The forecast leaves one key House race in Southern California undecided.
