Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a page from President Donald Trump’s playbook at a joint press conference on Thursday, saying he wants to make India great again or create a “miga.”
Modi met up with Trump at the White House. There, world leaders discussed a variety of issues, including trade, the economic relations between India and the US, and military sales.
At a press conference, Modi said he was focusing on his Indian people’s legacy and how to ensure that his country will be developed by 2047.

“By borrowing expression from America, our vision for a developed India is to make India great again, or Miga great,” he said through a translator. “When America and India work together, that is, Maga and Miga, it becomes a huge partnership for prosperity.
“And it is this mega spirit that gives our purpose a new scale and scope.”

At the start of the press conference, Trump announced that the US would provide Indian F-35 fighter jets and increase military sales to the country by billions of dollars.
Trump also said his administration has approved the extradition of Tahooul Rana, a Canadian citizen from Pakistan, who is one of the plotters in the 2008 deadly terrorist attack that killed 160 people.
“I’m happy to announce that my administration has approved the extradition of one of the plotters and one of the very evil people of the world.
Additionally, Modi said India would accept illegal US Indian immigrants who have returned home.

“Everyone who enters another country illegally,” Modi said, “they have no right to be in that country at all.
“And as far as India and the US are concerned, we have always had the same opinion: that verified Indians who are illegally in the US are ready to bring them back to India.”
