An Inland Empire baseball and softball trainer has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl, and authorities believe there may be other victims.
John Anthony Ayala, 39, was arrested Friday on charges of stalking, nuisance and sexual abuse of a minor, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Ayala, a Colton resident, is a “self-employed training coach” who previously worked at F1 Training and Inland Peak Performance, baseball and softball training facilities in San Bernardino, authorities said.
Inland Peak’s website lists Ayala as the facility’s co-founder, but search results also reveal an Instagram post from Inland Peak that says, “We say goodbye to John Anthony Ayala.” has described Ayala as “a truly special part of Inland Peak’s performance.” and a wellness family. ” It is unclear when Ayala left Inland Peak.
In December, deputies received a report that Ayala was “sending inappropriate text messages to a female juvenile,” and that he “followed the victim and intentionally visited a location where he knew the victim would be.” I knew that he had appeared.
Authorities seized “multiple electronic devices” and believe there may be other victims.
