Two women were detained after a violent road shooting on Rialto’s 10 highway earlier this month.
The shooting took place around 8:15am on March 16 on the 10 highway westbound near Riverside Avenue and “derives from a road rage conflict over lane changes,” the California Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Investigators say the man driving a black 2024 Honda Civic was pulled up with a grey Nissan fraud, and the Nissan driver “created a handgun and fired several rounds in the victim’s car.”
The Honda was hit several times in the shooting.
Later that day, Fontana Police Department officials tracked the fraud using images of vehicles suspected of being captured by state law enforcement.
Two women were taken into custody and inside Nissan, “detectives recovered a loaded firearm that fits the witness’s statement,” authorities said.
Driver Angeline Marie Gable of 24-year-old Loma Linda has been arrested on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and shooting in an occupying vehicle. She did not appear in a search for prison records.
“Deliberate acts of violence like these are not tolerated. I commend the efforts of CHP investigators and detectives, and our coalition agencies. “A coordinated and prompt action like these underscores the CHP’s unwavering commitment to public safety.”
