Investigating the shooting in Camarillo immigrant raid FBI

The FBI is investigating a shooting that took place Thursday during immigration enforcement at a cannabis farm in Camarillo, where hundreds of protesters clash with federal agents.

ABC7 News filmed a video of what appears to be the man who shot and killed a federal agent after a smoke canister was fired at a crowd in an attempt to disperse the protesters. It is unknown if anyone was injured.

The FBI is currently offering a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of a person believed to have fired a pistol at a federal officer on Laguna Road between Woodposus Roads in the US at 2:26pm. Bill Essayri said in X’s statement.

The Pro Trump X account asked whether Governor Newsom would condemn the shooting. The governor applauded, “Of course I denounce the attack on law enforcement, you shit the poster.”

“Now on January 6th,” Newsom added, referring to the rebellion at the U.S. Capitol when a mob of Trump supporters tried to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, resulting in deaths, injuries and widespread damage.

Thursday’s protest broke out scores for federal agents and national guard members who came down to Glass House Farms’ marijuana growth site at 645 Laguna Road.

According to the essay, agents ran a search warrant on the farm and arrested several individuals on suspicion of interfering with the surgery.

Ten unwritten minors were found on the farm during the attack, eight of whom were unaccompanied, US Border Patrol Commissioner Rodney Scott said in a statement on X. The facility is currently investigating child labor violations, he said.

The Ventura County Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 12:15pm to transport five people to hospital and treated four others at the scene.

During the hours of demonstration, federal agents deployed canisters of tear gas and smoke and fired rubber bullets at protesters.

Approximately 35 miles above the shore of Carpinteria, federal agents stormed another Glass House Farms Growing site.

US Rep. Sardo Carvajal (D-Santa Barbara) tried to enter the facility around noon and identified himself as a member of the Congress, which he was overseeing. He was denied access by hidden federal agents dressed in camouflage and holding weapons that formed a line of boundary around the attack, he said.

In light of the obvious subsequent shootings at Camarillo, Carvajal issued a visionary statement saying, “These tactics create an inflammatory and hostile environment in ways of development that could lead to future violence.”

In a statement regarding X, Glass House Farms said the company will be visited by federal agents, fully complying with search warrants and provide further updates if necessary.
