Deputies have arrested three “career criminals” suspected of committing multiple robberies in San Bernardino County. They are believed to be connected to further crimes, officials announced Saturday.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that officers arrested suspects who tried to break into a home in Chino Hills and then led officers on a pursuit.
Authorities identified the suspects as Jeroen Pennington, 28, Kwan Smith, 27, and Kenny Warren, 37, all of Los Angeles.
According to SBSD, the suspects arrived at a home in the 6000 block of Amora Drive around 11:30 a.m. Friday wearing ski masks and clothing to conceal their identities.
When they tried to break into the residence, the homeowner confronted them and the three suspects fled, police said.
SBSD said investigators investigated and developed “viable leads” and learned the suspects were also involved in a robbery earlier in the day in the county.
Detectives asked the Los Angeles Police Department to search suspicious vehicles in their jurisdictions.
When the Los Angeles Police Department spotted the vehicle, the suspects reportedly took off and engaged in a car chase with the officers. The pursuit then turned into a foot pursuit and ultimately led to an arrest.
Detectives executed a search warrant on the suspect vehicle and recovered a firearm that SBSD said was stolen during a residential burglary.
Officers brought the three suspects to the Chino Hills station for questioning, where they discovered all three were “parolees and career criminals,” according to a release from SBSD.
Pennington, Smith and Warren were all booked into the West Valley Detention Center on multiple felony charges, officials said.
“The investigation continues to identify other robberies committed by these suspects,” SBSD added.
The department is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Chino Hills Police Department at 909-364-2000.
