The Irvine Police Department has released photos of two Romanian nationals allegedly perpetuating a “jewelry switch scam” in Culverdale, and investigators believe there could be more casualties. .
Last week, one person had a gold necklace worth $2,000 stolen by 29-year-old Dinu Adelina and 34-year-old Miclescu Cosmin.
“In these cases, the suspect will involve the victim in a conversation before either thanking their help or providing jewels “in honor,” police said. “They remove valuable gems while the suspects place fake gems on the victim.”

Investigators found the pair in Lois Angeles County and found that “the Romans would return to Irvine and “conduct surveillance and follow-up to bring about strong lawsuits” before being detained on February 8th. said the police.
They have been booked at the Orange County Jail for grand theft and criminal conspiracy and are being held in custody in lieu of $500,000 bail. Neither appeared in search of prison records.
