Spotify was down for some users around the world on Wednesday morning, but is backed up and running.
The music streaming service confirmed the suspension in a social media post on 8:45am ET, saying, “We are aware of some issues right now and are checking out them!”
Spotify added more details later:
“There are reports from users that the app is not loading properly or that there are playback issues. Others have reported that they have issues accessing the support site. This appears to be happening on both mobile and desktop devices.”
Then at 12:08 PM EST, Spotify confirmed that the issue was “all clear.”
The issue reportedly prevented the platform from loading or streaming music. I’ve had issues with Spotify’s web player, desktop app, and mobile app. Some desktop users saw a black screen that didn’t load, while others were able to select songs, but they couldn’t play them.
Down detectors showed a surge in US outages, while stop maps from Thousand Eyes showed that the issue had a global impact on users.
