Israel Columbia professor wants Trump to block certain agencies from receiving federal funding

Colleges and universities across the United States have seen an increase in anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activity since the brutal Hamas attack on October 7th. Anti-Israel agitators have staged mass protests, disrupted courses and events, and established encampments. But it’s not just the students who are involved, but also the faculty.

Columbia Business School associate professor Shai Davidai is calling on President Donald Trump to issue an executive order to stop agencies hiring professors who help designated terrorist organizations in the United States receive federal funds. .

In a repost from an account that documented hatred of Jews on Columbia’s campus, Davidai urged Trump to act.

“I think it’s time for the president to sign a very simple executive order: There will be no federal funding for private institutions that hire professors who support America’s engineered terrorist organizations,” Davidai wrote.

Davidai believes that Columbia violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and “should not receive federal funds” based on hiring and raising salaries for teachers who support terrorist groups.

“Over the past 15 months, we have seen open support for the disappearance of the state of Israel,” Davidai told Fox News Digital. “Beyond criticism of the Israeli government, Israel and its presence on university campuses is also present by students and professors.”

But Davidai emphasized that this is not just an Israeli issue, but an American issue. He points out that agitators often mirror the rhetoric of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, viewing Israel as “Little Satan” and America as “Big Satan.”

“This is anti-Americanism. They hate America. That’s what they say, it’s not me putting words in their mouths.”

Columbia University became a hotbed of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activity following the Oct. 7 attack, which drew national attention as then-President Minoush Shafiq was grilled by lawmakers over the situation. Despite changes in university leadership, anti-Israel agitators are still active on campus.

Last week, anti-Israel agitators disrupted a course called Modern History of Israel that was being taught by Avisilon, a visiting professor at Israel’s Tel Hai Academic College. Tel-Hai faces the threat of Hezbollah attacks due to its location near Israel’s northern border.

“Hezbollah supporters here in New York City were just let go by his class and wouldn’t let him teach, just like Hezbollah wouldn’t let him teach his class in Israel,” Davidai said.

Columbia did not respond to a request for comment. However, after the incident, Interim President Katrina Armstrong released a statement.

“Today, the history of class in modern Israel was disrupted by protesters who handed out flyers. We strongly condemn this disruption and the flyers containing violent images that are unacceptable to our campuses and communities. Disrupting another group of students in a Columbia classroom constitutes disrupting academic activities and violating the university’s rules of conduct.

“We will investigate this act and move quickly to address it. I want to make it absolutely clear that this is not allowed and will not be tolerated.”
