President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance would support securing the Republican presidential nomination in 2028.
Trump was at the South Court Auditorium. There, Fox News Senior White House correspondent Peter Doucy signed an executive order to create the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Task Force when he asked if Vance could become the face of America’s great movement after saying the president wasn’t running in his third term.
“We’ve now managed to clear the entire Republican field,” Doucy told Trump. “Do you agree that Maga’s heir is JD Vance?”

In his answer, Trump pointed out that Secretary of State Marco Rubio could work with Vance to create a horrifying ticket.
“Well, I think I’m probably the most. In all fairness, I think he’s the vice president and Marco is also someone who might somehow end up with JD,” Trump replied.
“I think we have some incredible people, some of the people on stage here, so it’s obviously too early to talk about it, but certainly he’s doing a great job,” he added. “And he’s probably going to like it at this point.”

The president also said that others in his cabinet could lead the Maga movement. Trump and some of his allies had previously thought that he would run for a third term, which is constitutionally prohibited.
Rubio ran for Trump in the 2016 primary, but has since positioned himself as Trump’s ally.
Last month, Rubio rejected speculation that he could become the Republican presidential candidate in 2028. Instead, he threw support behind Vance.
“I think JD Vance will be a great candidate if he decides to do it,” Rubio said in an interview with Lara Trump, airing on the Fox News channel.

He also praised Vance’s performance as Vice President in the “My Views with Lala Trump” segment, revealing that he is pleased with President Donald Trump’s current role in the cabinet.
