Los Angeles County prosecutors said Thursday that the Mississippi man accused of crashing the PT cruiser into the main gate of Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air Home was found to be incapable of withstanding trials.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalzzi said after reviewing reports from two psychiatrists who investigated Jimmy Wayne Carweil, 48, the court found that a criminal case against him against him is currently incapable of filing a lawsuit.
City News Service reported that Defendant Robert Kraus told the judge that it was not the outcome his client wanted. Last week, the second psychiatrist appointed to investigate Carweil at the request of the defendant agreed to the first psychiatrist’s assessment that the defendant is “not currently capable.”
The judge also said that lawyers representing Aniston will be allowed to speak at the next hearing. Carwyle’s next court date is June 26th.
Carwyle was charged with stalking and vandalism in a crash crash outside the home of a “Friends” actor on May 5th. The district attorney’s office alleged that Karweil has repeatedly harassed the actress since March 1, 2023, sending social media voicemails and email messages.
And the allegations of harassment reached a boiling point when he crashed his PT cruiser through her main gate, causing great damage, the District Attorney’s Office said. Carwyle was held by Aniston security guards before law enforcement arrived.
Steve Lare, the man’s longtime friend, who moved from his native Mississippi in September and lived from his car at Walmart Supercenter in Burbank, told NBC News. He had a well-paid job as an auto service technician, but left five years ago. His friend said that he was followed by a steady decline and delusion that he was a Christlike figure who married Aniston, who was at home at the time of the crash.
According to NBC News, Carwyle has repeatedly posted about Aniston on social media. As part of the investigation, detectives are looking into his social media posts, according to law enforcement sources.
“I’ve been writing with you since the beginning of Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carweil,” Kerrweil wrote on Facebook on March 26th.
If convicted in all respects, Carvile faces three years in a state prison.
