Jennette McCurdy’s widely acclaimed memoir, “I’m Delighted My Mother has passed away,” fits the Apple TV+ series along with Jennifer Aniston, who stars in a role modeled after McCurdy’s mother.
The 10-episode Doramedy was written by McCurdy and film producer Ari Katcher. The pair will serve as co-showrunners, with the executives producing the series alongside Aniston, Apple announced Tuesday.
McCurdy began acting at the age of eight, gaining fame as a co-star on Nickelodeon’s show “Ikaly” and Miranda Cosgrove, and later changed her role as Sam in the spinoff “Sam & Cat,” opposite Ariana Grande. Her memoirs say that she is “emotionally, mentally and physically abused” by her mother throughout her childhood.
The show centers around a “co-dependent relationship” between a young female actor and her “narcissistic mother” in the popular children’s show, according to a statement. No casting has been announced for Child Star, which Apple is described as 18 years old.
Released in August 2022, McCurdy’s bestselling book, following years of treatment, said it was essential to ensure that she could fully cope with her mother’s death due to cancer complications in 2013.
The title is attracting attention and she said it is completely true.
“I feel so mad at her because I am so angry about her doing so with my mother’s death. And I felt compassion and sympathy, anger and anger,” McCurdy told the Associated Press in 2022.
Jennifer Aniston is genuine about her love life.
McCurdy’s book detailed the difficulties of dealing with her fame, navigating her mother’s illness simultaneously.
“Just as if I was in the ambulance while my mother was convulsing in the middle of a seizure, I could look up and see my face so that I could look up and see my life as ock-laughing at me,” McCurdy told the Associated Press.
Aniston’s casting follows a collaboration with Apple TV+ on “Morning Show.” The fourth season of the show is scheduled to premiere on September 17th.
