HBO has landed one of the most skilled American actors to play a central role in the upcoming Harry Potter reboot.
Multiple Emmy and Tony winner and star of Oscar nominee “Conclave” will play Albus Dumbledore, the principal of magic and magic at Hogwarts School of Magic. Screen abuse broke the news.
Lithgow told Screen Lante that “it came as a complete surprise to me.”
“I called at the Sundance Film Festival for yet another film and it wasn’t an easy decision because it defined me for the final chapter of my life, I’m afraid.” He said. “But I’m very excited. It’s not the first obvious casting decision to be released, Lithgow has failed to serve as Dumbledore for ten years, but it’s not the first time the role has changed hands.
The former performer Richard Harris passed away in 2002 and was replaced by Michael Gambon, who died in 2023.
