House Speaker Mike Johnson enjoys “burning” Democrats on Sunday, and vows to be as aggressive as President Donald Trump pushes legislation as he does executive order.

Johnson issued a statement when he appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with host Shannon Breem. Johnson said House Republicans are working to compile the massive legislative package Trump has requested.

“We’re going to secure borders. We’re going to make sure our American communities are safe. We’ll re-move American energy control into the economy and restore common sense,” Johnson said.

“But it takes a little time to do everything with one big bill, so we’re taking that process very productive. We’ve been building this for a year, Shannon. Last year there was a committee, and it’s of jurisdiction working on ideas to bring it together,” he added.

“We were going to do the Budget Committee markup next week. Details are really important so maybe we’ll push it a little more. We’ve got a two-vote margin right now, and we’ve got the smallest margin in history. Don’t forget. Make sure everyone agrees before moving forward with the project. Check that final product.

However, the budget bill process is not without a share of combat. Republican spending Hawks are urging leaders to include at least $2.5 trillion in spending cuts in large legislative packages.

One GOP lawmaker said he was nervous at a closing meeting with several “severe exchanges” at last week’s closing doors meeting.

“I think there’s a lot of frustration right now,” the lawmaker told Fox News Digital. “They have tried to be inclusive, but all the open forums they have provided give their members the ability to say, “I feel like people are listening to me.” That’s not the case. “

Reps. ChipRoy, R-Texas, and Ralph Norman, Rs.C. (Rs.C.) is a two conservative member of the House Budget Committee, who told reporters he wanted to see a baseline for spending cuts, both set at around $2.5 trillion.
