On the verge of resting on Sean’s sex trafficking case against “Diddy” Combs, federal prosecutors on Monday showed more videos of the drug-fueled sex marathon at the heart of allegations that could put hip-hop mogul behind his life.
The clip was about 20 minutes of footage totaling so-called “freak-off” or “hotel night” and booked a prosecutor’s lawsuit that began seven weeks ago.
Prosecutors are scheduled to file a lawsuit on Tuesday once Combs’ lawyers cross-examine the final government witness. Joseph Celcielo spent time reading text messaging aloud, text messaging exchanges in which he or she was involved.
As asked by the Combs lawyers, due to the nature of the graphics, they performed excerpts from the video that were only displayed to ju apprentices and parties, as they questioned Cerciello.
U.S. Attorney Aide Molen Comey occasionally mentioned almost one- or two-minute clips filmed by Combs as “explicit” videos that a ju umpire can place on the headset, allowing audiences to listen and watch recordings without viewing or hearing them in a Manhattan courtroom.
Prosecutors cited drug fuel multiple events as evidence of conspiracy to sex trafficking and assault, saying combs relied on employees, peers and his business accounts to fly male sex workers to Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, where his staff set up hotel rooms for their encounters and then cleaned them.
Combs, 55, pleaded not guilty. He is active in his defense, writing notes to his lawyers, and sometimes influences them when they stop questioning witnesses.
Last week, prosecutors showed ju judges about two minutes of footage from 2012 and 2014 involving a male sex worker and comb Kathy. Cassie, an R&B singer who is Casandra Ventura, testified that she has previously attended hundreds of “freak-off” events. She and Comb were in a relationship from 2007 to 2018.
Cathy sued the comb in 2023, alleging long-standing abuse. He settled within hours, followed by dozens of similar lawsuits.
The Associated Press generally does not identify people who say they are victims of sexual abuse unless they move forward publicly, as Cathy did.
The defense last week showed the ju judge a video clip of about 18 minutes from a sex performance involving Kathy, after the lawyer said in an opening statement that the video proved that sexual activity was consensual and not evidence of a crime.
On Monday, prosecutors aired nearly 20 minutes of recordings from 2021 and 2022 of a single mother identified solely by the pseudonym “Jane,” the male sex worker Combs. Jane testified in the first half of her six-day trial that she had been romantically involved with the comb since 2021, from 2021 until her arrest in September at a hotel in New York.
Federal agent Cerciello testified that dozens of recordings lasted for hours from late 2021 until August last year. Comey finished her questioning to Celcielo early Monday afternoon. After cross-examination by the defense, the prosecutor was expected to take a break.
The closing discussion was scheduled tentatively on Thursday after what was expected to be a brief defensive presentation.
