Both actions by the administration would have put workers and their families at unnecessary risks and costs, according to the judge.

This is when President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who lead government efficiency, try to dismantle the agency.

Nichols ordered 500 USAID staff members who were already on leave by the administration.

However, the judge has declined a request from two federal employee associations that would allow a temporary bloc on the funding freeze for government candidates, waiting for more hearings on workers’ lawsuits.

Nichols stressed at the hearing earlier Friday that his order to suspend the administration’s actions was not a decision on employees’ demands to block the administration’s efforts to quickly destroy the agency.
