A man has been arrested in connection with Mengan Zhuang’s death, who discovered a 23-year-old student had been murdered in a condo last month, authorities said this week.
Jack Min Terry, 22, was arrested in Garden Groves on February 16, according to a statement Thursday from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office. The case was filed with the county attorney’s office and Terry was charged with murder, according to his release.
He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 27th.
In early February, Zhuang, a student at the Chinese National and California Institute of Arts, also known as Emily King, was found to not respond to her roommates in early February, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Her roommate was called 911 and emergency responders found Zhuang suffering from multiple upper body injuries, officials said. She was declared dead at the scene.
Detectives claim they left Zhuang’s residence at Vistas Condominium Commuinium combinium in Newhall on February 4th and were seen on the day she died.
Anyone with information will be asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau (323) 890-5500.
