Ella Emov, stepdaughter of former Vice President Kamala Harris, shared with her Instagram followers on Tuesday that she felt a “slight trauma” on the way to voting in the Democratic mayoral primary in New York City. Emov revealed that he was voting at the same polling station where he voted for his stepmother, who ultimately caused an overwhelming defeat in November 2024.
“You know, I feel a bit traumatized walking to the same voting station I went to vote for Kamala, and I just feel a lot of hope,” Emov said in a video posted on Instagram Story, which has since expired.
Ella Emov will be attending the Clock Party of Zohran Mamdani’s primary election, on June 24, 2025, including his bid to become Mayor of New York City in the November 2025 election.

In the second part of the video, Emov sports the “I voted” sticker, saying “I feel a huge mix of emotions,” adding, “New York gathers like this and gathers behind Zoran.”
Emov was one of the celebrity guests at Zoran Mamdani’s watch party, including “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon and actor Calpen.

The primary outcome is unofficial, but Mamdani advocated victory, acknowledged by former governor Andrew Cuomo, the other front line of the race.
Emov approved Mamdani in May with a video that appears to have been filmed at Brooklyn Steel, a music venue in New York City where Mamdani was holding an event.
“I will hand the phone to the next mayor of New York City, and New York intends to make New York happier, healthier and more affordable,” Emov says in the video.
For the past month, Emhoff has promoted Mamdani on social media. In one post, she created a list of “big reminders.” He urged New Yorkers not to rank Cuomo or vote for Mamdani instead.

Mamdani faces intense criticism from Republicans who view him as radical and those who accused him of being anti-Semitic. His proposals include implementing free public transport, creating a network of city-owned grocery stores, and establishing free universal child care for children between six weeks and five years old.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.) criticized Mamdani, saying that “extreme, political, communist and infuriated anti-Semble would likely win the primary for the Democratic mayor of New York City.”
The New York City Election Commission is set to release its official major results on July 1st, according to FOX 5.
