The new North Hollywood mural celebrates two iconic Los Angeles Dodgers, Kaik Hernandez and Fernando Valenzuela.
Both players have won the Dodgers World Series and are team active players in the Latinos community in LA, recently winning two World Series in 2024 and 2020, with Valenzuela winning only the 1981 World Series.
The mural is located at the corner of Rankershim and Burbank Boulevard on the side of the Nohotyre and Wheels building.
In the mural, Hernandez is wearing a Dodgers hat and is clenched in a fist while wearing his two World Series Championship rings.
The Dodgers legend Valenzuela, who died in October 2024 due to unspecified health issues, is depicted behind him wearing a Dodgers hat and angel wings. On each side of him are pictures of his time as a player, depicting him pitching into the iconic 34 jersey.
His nickname “Elro” is also pointed out below the photograph along with images of two bulls.
The artists behind the murals include KOBE and other works around LA, celebrating iconic figures such as Gianna Bryant, Nipsey Hussle, Selena Quintanilla and Kendrick Lamar.
