Why does Kim Kardashian’s skim take over Mel’s drive-in in West Hollywood? Because it’s iconic and she loves to do symbolic things.

The reality star and Los Angeles native opened their flagship Los Angeles store, a shapewear and clothing line, on West Hollywood’s famous Sunset Strip. The opening comes months after she opened her flagship location on Fifth Avenue, New York.

Skim

“Opening a Skim Store in Los Angeles is a full-sale moment. This city is a big part of my life and having a space where people can experience the brand in person makes it even more special,” Kardashian said. “We’re just starting out and we can’t wait for the future.”

Kardashian is the brand’s co-founder and chief creative officer. She and Jens Grede launched the brand in 2019.

Celebrities pay tribute to actor Val Kilmer

“Les Angeles has always been a key market for Skim and what we call home, so opening a flagship store here was a natural next step,” says Jens Grede, co-founder and CEO of Skim. “It’s incredible to see our standalone store come to life. We’re excited to continue expanding, giving both new and loyal customers the space to fully experience skim.”

Skim

The store is the world-renowned design studio Rafael de Cárdenas, Ltd. It is designed by Kardashian and features Kardashian’s long-standing minimalist aesthetic.

“Space is an architecture statement, and seamlessly blends the intimate, body-focused aesthetics and monumental design that defines skim. The design incorporates signature round-edge fixtures, custom tone mannequins, and layouts that provide customers.
A seamless shopping experience,” the press release states.

To celebrate the opening even further, the brand partners next to Mel’s drive-in to seek out a “dining experience inspired by a reimagined skim” and features a custom photo booth, curated menus and signature skims that match Mel’s vintage look.

The collaboration will be open to the public from April 2nd to 6th and is located at Sunset Blvd. 8585 W. Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, California. Those who shop at Skim will receive priority access. The pop-up will be opened during standard time for Mel at the time.
Thursday: 7am to 3am
Friday: 7am – midnight
Saturday: Open 24 hours
Sunday: Midnight to 10pm

You can make reservations here, but finally make sure they are all booked.

Skim’s Flagship is located at Sunset Blvd. 8569 W. Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, California.
