The ride at Knott’s Berry Farm malfunctioned Saturday afternoon, leaving guests temporarily left just months after a similar incident prompted emergency rescue and a state investigation.
The latest breakdown occurred in November last year with the same charm that was hung in the air for more than two hours. In that previous incident, the two were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but no serious injuries were reported.
On Saturday, the ride stopped midway through the cycle for about five minutes.
The riders were hanging in the air after a Sol Strill Ride malfunctioned at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park on July 26, 2025.
In a statement, Knott’s Berry Farm said: “Guest safety is our number one priority. Today, the ride did not complete a full cycle. As a safety precaution, the ride stopped and we had a full safety inspection before reopening soon after.”
Following the November incident, CAL/OSHA began investigating through its entertainment rides and tramway units. KTLA contacted the agency for updates on the status of its investigation, but has not yet received a response.
No injuries were reported in Saturday’s incident.
