Dozens of riders were stopped in the air Saturday afternoon when the popular thrill ride at Notbury Farm in Buena Park was accidentally carried out.
The eyewitness video showed the Sol Spin Ride suddenly stopped, with at least 20 riders hanging in the air.
Built in 2017, the ride sends guests into the air up to six stories, as it rotates 360 degrees with one of its six spinning arms.
In a statement to KTLA, park officials said the ride “did not complete the full cycle as a safety precaution” and “were stopped for about five minutes.”

After “were undergoing a full safety inspection,” the ride continued to work regularly, officials said.
Saturday’s stop was the second mark when Sol Spin was the left rider hanging in the air. In November 2024, 22 people were caught in the ride for almost three hours after the ride malfunctioned.
Sky5 video of the incident showed that some people were trapped in a position close to vertical. After workers finally lowered their ride and guests disembarked, authorities said no injuries were reported.
Initially, park officials said the two female riders were taken to the hospital “from a wealth of caution,” but later confirmed that they were treated and released without being admitted to the hospital.
Technical malfunctions on the ride were later investigated by the California Department of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL/OSHA) recreational units and streetcar units.
“Guest safety is a top priority,” a park official added.
