Someone tagged one of Kobe and Gianna Bryant murals in downtown Los Angeles.
In an Instagram post Monday, the account @Kobemural shared photos before and after the Manbus Forever mural on 14th Avenue and Main Street. Kobe Bryant, the legendary Lakers, is holding a basketball player and kissing his daughter, Gigi, with affection. Next to them, “Mamba Forever,” written in old English style, is painted in purple and gold.
Now, the mural is destroyed with giant bubble letters outlined in black, filled with white, similar to the street tagging that appears in the rest of the city.
“Unfortunately, one of the first Kobe and Gigi murals was destroyed in downtown Los Angeles,” the image caption said. “We share to bring awareness to our fans community in Los Angeles and our fans community around the world.
The caption will guide fans to GoFundMe to help restore the mural.
The mural commemorating Bryant brings many to life after him, his daughter and seven others, John Altoberg, 56. Keri Altobelli, 46; Alyssa Altobelli, 13; Christina Moser, 38; Sarah Chester. Peyton Chester; Ara Zobayan, 50, a helicopter pilot, passed away on January 26, 2020 while helicopter Zobayan was flying on the hills of Calabasas.
