Whether you’re an early adopter of a real ID or haven’t started your paperwork yet, Krispy Kreme is cooking sweet offers to all customers as this week’s deadline approaches.
The latest promotions from the donut chain, known for their frequent giveaways, do not have strings attached. This should serve as welcome news for US residents as the Real ID Act has become a little more complicated.
Are you ready to sink your teeth into a delicious deal? This is everything you need to know.
What is Krispy Kreme’s true ID trading?
On Wednesday, May 7th, all Krispy Kreme customers will receive one free original Grace Donut at the drive-thru at participating shops.
This offer is limited to one free donut per customer and no purchase is required. The best part? You do not need to display your ID to win prizes.
“While DMVs can be stressful enough in normal times, we know that May 7 is a ‘next level’ stress that many Americans are trying to get their real ID,” said Dave Skena, chief growth officer at Krispy Kreme in a statement. “So we’ll keep this simple. Come on May 7th and have us a free, original glazed donut. No real ID or ID is required.”
Anyway, what’s this fuss about your actual ID?
The actual ID Act will be implemented from May 7th. This means that you must show your TSA agent your actual ID or an approved alternative identification format while passing security checkpoints at US airports.
According to the Actual ID Act, the Actual ID is a state-issued identification card or driver’s license that must meet certain security standards. Children under the age of 18 need not show identification while traveling with adults.
