LeBron James recently became the first professional male athlete to resemble Ken dolls, and KTLA was able to exclusively see the King in his latest form before the figurine was officially released.
Originally, it was announced on Wednesday that the NBA’s highest scorer ever will be Barbie Kembassador. In a press release, Barbie’s parent company Mattel has pushed the Lakers forward with its positive impact on culture, style and community.
“We look forward to providing our fans with Ken’s new presentation celebrating LeBron as a role model, his iconic status, his lasting impact on culture, and his dedication to setting a positive example for the next generation to reach their infinite potential.”

[and] That’s why it’s such an honor to partner with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kembassador doll. ”

And despite the similarities between the hype around the figurine and the king, a store worker expressed the opinion that the designer should add grey or white hair to his whiskers.
LeBron himself pointed out the contradiction.
“He may need to lift a bit… his legs look a little thin,” he said of his doll in a video posted on social media. “But it’s dope.”
