Almost a year after his speech was confused by an angry mob of student protesters, Kyle Rittenhouse returns to the University of Memphis on Wednesday evening to talk about the Second Amendment and his controversial 2021 trial.
The University of Memphis branch of Turning Point USA has reinvited Rittenhouse and after the University and Rittenhouse lawyers signed a deal this time to ensure proper security presence, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorney Mathew Hoffmann told Fox News Digital.
“The bottom line is that universities cannot allow hostile students and speakers they dislike,” Hoffman said. “It’s surrounded by Tennessee law and the First Amendment. The mob was forced to shorten his speech and he couldn’t convey the message.”

Intervening on behalf of Rittenhouse and TPUSA, the ADF rescheduled the event to the university in October and sent a request to “request TPUSA to refund unconstitutional security fees that were forced to pay after the event was closed.” The university rescheduled it, but “we didn’t refund the $1,600 fee for security, which we were standing vaguely.
“They changed their security fee rating system. The university committed ahead of the event to promote respectful dialogue and to make a brief statement about how confusion is not acceptable,” Hoffman said.
Rittenhouse was acquitted in the famous five-time 2021 crime after fatally shooting two people deadly in Kenosha on August 25, 2020, wounding a third of fearful injuries. His defense attorneys allegedly acted in self-defense after being attacked, deceased Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Hoover, 26, both had criminal records including allegations of domestic abuse, child abuse and disorderly conduct.
Rittenhouse has found himself innocent in all respects.

The University of Memphis did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment by the time of publication.
