LA County Fair Opens: This cumbersome, magnificent, concert-cool, attraction-like magnificent magnificent celebrating its centenary years ago, but the party is still lively, celebratory and full of nostalgic repurpose. “Art Unleashed” is the theme of the 2025 fair and will run on some dates from May 2-26th. “Dance on Wheels” is back, and the Barnyard racers draw applause (Duck is one of their competitors, AWWW), and Budweiser’s Clydesdale makes a horse cameo. Cinco de Mayo: It is true that May 5th lands accurately between the weekend and Tuesday, 2025 – a sigh – but there are several ways to celebrate the Fiesta-centric celebration before Cinco do Monday arrives. Smorgasburg LA will be holding “Miche de Mayo” on May 4th. Michelada and music became a central theme, with the big “Cinco Orbera Festival” dancing at Plaza Kioko on May 4th.
Free art, culture and architecture experience: It’s time for the “Brewery Art Walk.” Entry to the event from May 3rd to 4th? So it’s very free. “Mercado Moca” will return to Moca’s Geffen contemporary on May 2nd (this is a free “First Fridays” event). More free fun will be held at the Music Centre Jerry Moss Plaza on May 3rd thanks to a special “Family Day” event. And the free “Arroyo Seko” will shine a spotlight on six museums, or six nearby museums. It will start at noon on May 4th, and there will be a free shuttle to take you there.
“Star Wars Day”: If you’re a Wookie or a Droid, or you’re counting Wookie or Droid as your BFF, you certainly know that May 4th is “the fourth Your Day” when “Star Wars” fans celebrate iconic franchises in all kinds of star ways. Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is offering galaxy tributes to “Season of the Force” until May 11th, offering several offerings, from shows to snacks. May 3rd happens to be “Free Comic Book Day.” If you want to wear your ewok costume and show off your “Star Wars” love while shopping for comics.
“Around Halloween”: The most ghostly opportunity is six months away. This is quite a bit of time. Of course, unless you love observing the eerie traditions of holidays outside of October, that’s exactly what you love about “the middle of Halloween.” Street Food Cinema is making its way to the Heritage Square Museum on May 2nd and 3rd for Halloween-inspired cocktails, classic scary movies and creepy snapshot spots.
