As hot temperatures hit Los Angeles this week, residents flocking to the coast and cooling down, the LA County Health Department is warning its public to avoid seawater on several beaches due to high germ levels.
The affected beaches are:
Solsti Creek in Dunblocker County Beach, move up and down the coast 100 yards from the stream. Walnut Creek, Paradise Cove, move up and down the coast 100 yards from the stream. Ramires Creek, Paradise Cove, move up and down the coast 100 yards from the pier. Go up and down the coast 100 yards from the Bel Air Bay Club in Will Rogers State Beach. Mother Beach at Marina del Rey, the entire swimming area. Castle Rock Storm moves up and down the coast 100 yards from the Topanga County Beach drainage channel, a storm drain. Santa Monica Pier and 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
Meanwhile, the warning has been lifted for the next beach area where recent sample results have identified water quality levels within state standards.
Avalon Beach on Catalina Island, 50 feet west of the pier. Recorded information regarding beach status is available 24 hours a day at the county beach closure hotline, 1-800-525-5662.
