The Los Angeles County Department of Probation says it recovered a significant amount of illegal drugs and identified stolen vehicles during a compliance operation in Santa Clarita on Thursday.
Officers of the department’s AB 109 Region 5 team conducted compliance checks in the region and seized the following from several people on active probation:
212 grams of heroin 284.5 grams of cocaine 25.4 grams of yellow cocaine 260.7 grams of fentanyl about 35 pounds of marijuana about 4 pounds of mushroom
Officials also reported that Dodge Challenger had been stolen from Bakersfield. The vehicle had a license plate registered with KIA, officials said. The suspect, previously convicted of selling and possession of a firearm, is currently facing additional fees.
“This operation is a testament to an unwavering commitment to public safety and rehabilitation. By enforcing accountability, it not only disrupts criminal activity, but also provides opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives.”
The seizure of fentanyl has been a growing concern for local governments as the drug continues to be one of the deadliest substances in Los Angeles County as a whole. The department says it will continue its efforts to remove it and other dangerous drugs from the community through enforcement and surveillance.
