Currently, applications for the Small Business Loan Program created by LA County to help those affected by Altadena’s Eaton Fire are now accepted.
The Altadena Disaster Relief Small Business Loan Program, launched Monday by Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Burger and the Los Angeles County Development Bureau, promises up to $75,000 to help eligible businesses “recover, rebuild and maintain employment” in fire abolition communities.
Eligible businesses such as restaurants, retailers, fitness centres, grooming services, deipas, etc. must operate physical storefronts in the area with ZIP code 91001 or 91004.
Once approved, funds for the 15-year loan period will be distributed directly to the employer.
Even those who received FEMA assistance are eligible to apply, the county said in a statement.
“Eaton Fire has destroyed much of our Altadena community. This program provides real support wherever we need it most,” said director Katherine Berger. “Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and it is essential to help them recover from disasters and restore stability, work and community spirit.”

The county said applications were accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, starting from Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 12pm.
