LA County supervisors say they want to hold the federal government accountable for the ongoing immigration attacks.
Director Hilda Solis has proposed legal action against what he considers unfair detention and arrest.
Both allegations are intended to protect the rights of those who say Solis is being infringed.
This comes after a viral video of a recent detention where a Valinda man was shoved into the ground and his head was bleeding before he was taken away by federal agents.
Solis says the first allegations she is introducing will pursue legal action against what she says.
Additionally, halt, interrogation, detention, and arrest without reasonable doubt or possible causes.
“These things should not happen. There is no need to use that excessive force,” Solis said. “We really believe we need to call it, and these individuals who say they are law enforcement officials whether they should share the appropriate documents, whether they are ice or the Department of Homeland Security.”
Another move is particularly directed at young people who are taking part in the protest. It launches countywide initiatives to equip and empower young people through “know your rights” education, such as knowing what is legal and what isn’t in the protest.
Solis is expected to introduce these proposals Tuesday morning.
