Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called an emergency meeting following the attack in Colorado, leaving several people injured during a rally supporting Israeli hostages in Gaza
The man is in custody after police said they used makeshift flame throws on a group of Boulder Colorado demonstrators Sunday afternoon. Witnesses say he cried out “Free Palestine” in a group seeking the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Eight people were injured, including those who were seriously injured. The FBI is investigating the attack as a terrorist act.
The attack came shortly after two Israeli embassy workers were shot dead and killed in Washington, D.C.
On Monday, Torah studies are being conducted throughout the Pico Robertson district for a Jewish holiday called Shavuot.
Security was seen outside Adas Torah, a synagogue in the Pico Robertson area about 10 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. And that is the case of Shuls and Synagogues above and below Pico Boulevard.
Now, after two young Jews were killed in DC last month and attacked in Boulder, which Mayor Karen Bass called “a brutal targeting of especially elders,” she said she was calling an emergency meeting on Los Angeles safety and security shortly after Shabuott, adding that anti-Semitism is not tolerant in the city.
The mayor says he sees more LAPD officials patrol at homes in places of worship and community centres throughout the city.

In 2023, two Jewish men were shot and killed in the area while leaving the synagogue.
Federal authorities said the 28-year-old man was responsible and had a history of anti-Semitic conduct.
