Los Angeles hip hop legend is coming to your LA Metrotap card.
Nipsey Hussle is honored to celebrate what was his 40th birthday.
Transit Agency is unveiling two new tap cards featuring the late Los Angeles natives. It is part of the Metro X Culture series and celebrates Los Angeles’ “real” . This includes leaders, artists, visionaries who shaped the urban culture, especially those intersecting with the metro transport system. ”
“The series at its heart recognizes Transit as a thread of the iconic Angelenos story, including the upcoming Nippy Hustle Cards. Many of these numbers grew up riding metro on buses like 108 and metro-like buses. “Through this series, Metro aims to increase our involvement with TAP by amplifying LA culture by introducing stories of true influence and heritage, gathering cards that hold personal meaning for riders, and enhancing its role as a catalyst for everyday life and opportunity in Los Angeles.”
“Crenshaw & Sloughson” by Jonathan Mannion (La Metro)
One card features a black and white photograph of Heisle, born in Joseph Asgedom of Elmias, called “Crenshaw & Sloughson,” and designed by Jonathan Mannion. The other card is a photograph of the activist coloured by Anthony Fam, known as “Watts,” designed by Anthony Fam, featured on the Metrobus.

Limited edition tap cards will be available from August 15th. Only 12,000 will be available until everything is sold out.
You can get your cards exclusively when you sign up for Metro’s six customer service centres, Life Programs, and ticket vending machines at the following stations.

To further honor the “Shrinking All My Life” artist, Lametro will temporarily rename Hyde Park Station to Nipsey Hustle Station from August 15th to August 31st. It is located on Sloughson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard.
Hustle was shot outside his marathon clothing store inside the Sloughson Avenue Shopping Plaza in March 2019. He was 33 years old.
